"Hey brother, put your dance shoes on" [April 14th, 2005 @ 9:03am]
"Battery Charging Is Complete!"

...about fucking time. seriously.

Updation [April 14th, 2005 @ 8:56am]
So. My new landlord is named Darius Jackson. He has a moderately deep voice. And by some weird twist in fate, he is white. His parents confuse me.

Also, my thigh smells not unlike coffee. It also feels as though it is on fire. This is a bad situation.

I have a test now. Absurd updates to follow.

BTW, this song rocks. The best part is when he screams, "OHHHHH SHIIIITTTTT!!!" and then they rock out like they are trying to kill themselves. Makes me think of Clay.

"You're The Part Of Me That I Don't Want To See..." [March 31st, 2005 @ 2:39pm]
Well I just heard that Mitch Hedberg died, which makes me really sad. That guy was fucking hilarious, and I was expecting totally huge things from him. If you haven't checked him out, please do, because he was absolutely hysterical.

Anyway - First week of this term is basically over, and I must say that I'm pretty happy with the way everything has turned out so far. All of my classes seem actually interesting, and are things that I will actually be motivated to study and learn about. I'm particularly excited with getting involved with the campus newspaper. I think that's going to be really cool.

Saw the Fall Out Boy, Academy Is, Midtown, Gym Class Heroes show the other day. It was really fun. Gym Class sounded really good live, though their singer is kinda a fool. He made all these weird facial expressions that looked fucking ridiculous, but if I could ignore that, it was still tight. Academy Is sounded just like they do on their CD, so they were just fun to listen to. I kind of wish that he would have sung a bit louder and more aggressively though. It SOUNDED good, but didn't feel like..loud and powerful though. As for Midtown, they were my favorite part of the show. I love their new album, and they played a lot off of it, and had fucking ridiculous stage presence. Even Clay said he liked it, and this after spending weeks telling us he hated that band. :)We didn't watch Fall Out Boy. We got caught up in the back talking to some of the guys from Gym Class, and were a lot more into that than watching FOB. Then we left early and came home and got our crazy on. It was a really good time.

But yeah, that's what's up lately. Today I have laundry to do, and some cleaning of the upstairs that probably should get done. I want to have my place all cleaned up by the weekend so I can do homework without having other distractions.

Drinking Tea, But Wishing It Was Coffee [March 29th, 2005 @ 8:31am]
Second day of a new term of classes. Getting up early blows ass. Oh well though, because tonight is the Midtown, Academy Is, Gym Class Heroes show, and I'm so stoked for that. I'm going to be exhausted after making the 2.5 hour drive twice in one night though. At least I don't have anything until noon tomorrow.

Also, last night, I made homemade lasagna. I was so damn proud of myself. The shit is fucking amazingly good, and makes me feel like a total badass. :)

Random [March 24th, 2005 @ 11:20am]
I feel like I'm neglecting this thing (mostly because I am), so I'm going to just bite the bullet and start making entries even if they aren't that interesting. Oh well. I guess I can get over it.

But yeah, Spring Break is half over, and I'm freaking out because I seriously seriously don't want to go back to school. Oh well I suppose. In about an hour I'm leaving for a few days to go stay with my Girlfriend's family in Southern Oregon, so that should be really fun. I've met her sisters a few times, and they seem really cool. So it should be a pretty good time. Plus, ya know, I just want to see the damn girl! Her dorms close for the break (cuz she's such a young little freshmen), and she'd been home with her family all week.

But yeah. That's about it. Working on a playlist for the trip down there, and still making my fatty list of the new vinyls I want to get as soon as I have my financial aid money. Would anyone happen to know a good online place where I can shop for records? I really want "Armed Love" by t(i)nc on vinyl, but I can't find the fucking thing. I have found every bloody single or old album they've done, but not this (their best one).

I wish you were here looking out my window. You'd be able to see the cat Stine has chained up [March 13th, 2005 @ 1:13pm]
Ok, so I'm promoting this thing all over the bloody place, but it's so god damn cool, I just kind of have to. Woxy is an independent radio station that plays badass music all the time. I listen to it randomly for like...an hour, and by the end of that period, I have a whole list of bands written down that I want to check out. Every once in a while they'll play some bogus song that I want nothing to do with, and it's hard to sit through it to get to the next one, but hey - I guess radio has always been like that right? I have to remind myself that I used to listen to radio all the time. lol.

Anyway - check this shit out.

Today, I really need to buy toilet paper [March 13th, 2005 @ 1:03pm]
So. My livejournal is re-born. I've been ridiculously busy lately, and just kinda let the thing go, but alas - no longer.

So let's see. What's up. Today is Sunday, and next week is finals week. Which, is the ass. But oh well. Then it's spring break, and all will be better. :)

Listening to the new albums from Gatsby's American Dream, Spoon, Thunderbirds Are Now!, Mercury Rev, Hint Hint, The Frames, and Beck.

Going to see The Decemberists and Limbeck this week. It's going to be great. Then I'm going to the Midtown / Academy Is / Gym Class Heroes show whenever that is. My fucking roommates keep not buying tickets though, and I know it's going to sell out. Which means my ass will be going alone. I will NOT be happy.

And Louise - I'm still absurdly jealous that you're going to see The (International) Noise Conspiracy. I can't think of very many bands I'd rather see right now besides them.

Anyway - there's a random catchup. I'll be posting quite a bit more now. Hope all is well you's peoples.

Here's What I'm Listening To [February 19th, 2005 @ 3:47pm]
Here we go again. Here's what I've been listening to a lot the last few days.

The (International) Noise Conspiracy - "Armed Love" / "A New Morning"
- Yeah, I'm still listening to this pretty much constantly. I think these guys are really quickly becoming my favorite band. I absolutely love them.

The Academy Is - "Almost Here"
- Another one I posted about last time as well. This album is so ridiculously addicting. If you don't love this cd, it's just because you haven't listened to it enough yet. I love it.

Kaiser Chiefs - "Employment"
-I've listened to this album like...4 times now, and I'm starting to get into it. It's indie rock stuff, but with some synth business going on.

Gratitude - "Gratitude"
- It's about damn time Jonah put out another album. The man is ridiculous. He has a new band about every 6 months, and they are all so different. This is probably my favorite stuff he's done since Far honestly. It's cool because it's a bit more mainstream sounding. And punkier. I'm getting sick of onelinedrawing.

The Doves - "Some Cities"
- Hello. We are the Doves. We sound just like The Strokes and Mando Diao, but we went ahead and added a bit of Coldplay in there as well. Just to spice things up a bit.

Jack Johnson - "In Between Dreams"
- No one can deny Jack.

Gym Class Heroes - "The Papercut Chronicles"
- This is hip/hop from the emo scene, and I really like it. I wish there would be more hip/hop artists that were like this. It sort of merges several different scenes together, and works really well.

Hidden In Plain View - "Life In Dreaming"
- This is really generic modern emo shit. But, I'm still kinda into it. Ocassionally, they sound a lot like Brand New which is pretty sick. The songs all sound the same, and I'm sure I'll stop listening to it in about a week when another band that sounds just like them comes along, but until then - hooray!

Bright Eyes - "Im Wide Awake..." / "Digital Ash.."
- I'm really bummed I didnt get to go to this show. I'm so in love with Conor Oberst right now.

Athlete - "Tourist"
- I really wish they'd stick this band on the OC so they'd get some more exposure. They are really good, and this new album deserves a lot more recognition than it's getting.

"Cuz it hurts when I think that my thoughts aren't at peace..." [February 19th, 2005 @ 3:42pm]
This is all entirely pointless, but then again, so is most shit I post about on here, so whatever. lol.

Anyway - here we go.

-Taking a shower in the dark is really cool. The lightbulb burnt out in my bathroom, and I don't have any new ones to put in so I had to take a shower in the dark today, and it was really different. Perhaps I'll do it more.

-Some old man just walked down the street in fully military uniform. Like...a naval officer or something. It was kinda random.

- Did you know that tooth paste stains concrete? Yeah, I didn't know either. Good to know though.

- There was a HUGE flock of birds like..going insane just now. I'm looking out the window when suddenly like...86,000 birds flew over the house screaching and flying REALLY fast. They like...EXPLODED over the house. Like they were running from the end of the world or something. It was kinda scary actually. Birds freak me out.

- Fred Meyer mayonnaise is really weird. It's all like..fluffy. It reminds me of whipped yogurt. Kinda gross when you think about it actually.

Alrighty. Well that about wraps up random thoughts of the moment. lol.

This is so copied straight from myspace. I'm such a pussy lately. [February 16th, 2005 @ 4:36am]
New blog? Sure. Why not? Nothing else is going on, and I'm stressing over this presentation I have to give so I need something to procrastinate with. :)

So. What's new? Well, I'm listening to the new Jack Johnson album, which is fucking amazing. It's so different from his old stuff, and I seriously fucking love it. I'm also into all these bands on Fueled By Ramen that are going on a tight tour together that I'm going to with Clay, Joe, Dk, and Trevor. Possibly Peter too I think.

Um...Hanging out with Dinah a lot lately. That couldn't be going in a more positive direction. She's a sweetie. :)

Again - Jack Johnson is awesome.

I have I Heart Huckabees in my hand, and I seriously can't wait to watch this shit. There's like..5 or 6 movies out right now that I'm wanting to watch. I need to get with this shit. My DVD collection hasn't gone anywhere good lately.

Alright, well I'm going to go lay in bed and listen to this amazing album. I'm also really into these live recordings of green day. i just saw them tonight on carson, and they were SO good live. it was almost freaky. so i downloaded some of these bootlegs and they are tight.

Dear Ipod,

Thank you for every single fucking thing you do.

You are real.

Sincerely,
Tom

So yeah. That about wraps it up. I'm going to go to bed now. lol. pEAce
